Battery Dance launched its Adel Euro Campaign for Dancers Seeking Refuge following the tragic death of its talented protégé Adel Euro in a bombing in Baghdad that claimed the lives of over 300 innocent civilians. Through the generous support of the Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation and other donors who were moved by this cause, Battery Dance is supporting an artistic residency by Hussein Smko, a dancer from Iraq who knew Adel and who displays a similar level of creativity and talent. Hussein wowed a student audience at the New York City High School for Economics and Finance on Friday, March 3, 2017. See his performance here: vimeo.com/

Hussein Smko will perform in Battery Dance’s New York Season at Schimmel Center for the Arts on May 10th and 11th in New York. For further information visit: batterydance.org
