APPLICATIONS

PROCESS

A 1-2 page letter of inquiry is required before a grant application is submitted.  Letters of inquiry should be sent by email to info@sdrubin.org.  Additionally, please attach your project's budget as well as your full contact information.

The letter should briefly describe the background of the organization, the individuals involved in the project, and the amount of funding requested.  It is important to explain why funding is needed, what will be accomplished if funding is received, and how the funds will actually be spent. We would also like to know the sources of other funds, actual and potential, that may be committed to the project.

If a project described by a letter of inquiry seems likely to be within our capacity, the applicant may be asked to submit a more extended proposal. Please note, however, that our request for a proposal is not a guarantee of funding.

Letters of inquiry are accepted at any time. However, the Foundation holds quarterly board meetings each year in March, June, September, and December. These meetings will be the only times at which grant proposals will be reviewed for approval. Thus, in order to be considered for the next board meeting, proposals must be received by the 15th of February, May, August, or November. Please take these deadlines into consideration when submitting letters of inquiry.

The next meeting at which we will review grantee proposals will be in February 2012. Our proposal deadline for this meeting is now closed. Any proposals received after 12/15/11 will be reviewed for our Spring 2012 meeting (date TBA).
